86 JEEP COMANCHE 2.5L NO START

when i turn the ignition there is just a single click thats it truch has sat for a while since both terminals were touched on the hood of the truck... i did notice a long green wire coming from the starter and followed it up and it isnt connected to anything has a clip on the end when it touches the positive the engine will turn over (not on purpose) and ideals or help would be nice thangs

there should be a dark green wire that goes from the starter relay down to the starter solenoid.The starter relay should be located on the firewall up on top in engine compartment.there should be 4 terminals.One with red wires that come from fusible links with power all the time/one with dark green wire that has power only with key in crank position and comes from ignition switch/one black white that goes to neutral safety switch for auto transmission and or manual transmission clutch switch/one dark green wire yours that goes to starter solenoid from starter relay.

this is an 87 by the way sorry wrong year and would it be the same ???

The attachment below has the diagram for your vehicle. Starter relay, starter solenoid and starter are in top left of diagram.
Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

same except wire going to diagnostic connector and also going to the computer.Look at wiring diagram way2old posted.see if all wires on starter relay.

ok from the diagram i have a + terminal and it runs to the relay only wire i have that comes from the batt. and i hae a blk/wht wire on a terminal and a drk grn one on the other but it still leaves the one running from the starter jiust siting there... i can turn the ignition over here a single click thats all i get..
