81 Honda Civic weird stalling...

Hello folks,
I'm new to this car and new to this forum. I'd greatly appreciate any input that anyone may have. Here is the issue...
It will stall sometimes about 5 or so minutes into driving. I can tell when it's going to happen... the idle starts to waver up and down slightly and dropping (in general) slightly also (as opposed to staying strong around 1k like it often does). When this problem occurs, the idle will waver and drop for about 10 seconds or so until the waver gets low enough that it stalls on the low end of the waver. After that it won't start right back up again. If I wait a few minutes (about 2) after this happens, it will start back up and then not happen again until I park it and it sits again (at least so far). It will happen when stopped or driving (well, with the engine running of course). The car is fairly warmed up by that time also. At least I have a slight warning and can pull over to the side of the road. Either way, it's getting old. Any input? Please let me know if I can give any other information. Thanks a lot!
By the way... the car is a 81 civic 4-door sedan. Pretty well kept up but it did sit for a year. It has a 1.5L engine and a manual 5-speed. I know some of the info is unnecessary, but figured I'd put it in there anyway.
