5 speed gearbox for 1986 Polo C?

Hey guys!
I just got my first car, which is a 1986 VW Polo C. It has a 4 speed gearbox, which is fine but with the rise is petrol costs of late I was wondering if there is a 5 speed gearbox that will fit this car so i can improve efficiency and reduce the noise (60 mph is OK if the radio is on).
I've searched extensively on the net but i I just keep getting linked back to sites that are trying to sell me replacement 4 speeds.
So any ideas? The engine size is 1.05cc, and i found a reference to a GU gearbox or something if that's any help.
What should I be looking for?
