5.3L V8 - 2000 Chevy Tahoe - Oil gauge Sign In

Hello all,
I was looking at my oil gauge on my 2000 Tahoe and it looks to be to be high. My question is what is the normal oil pressure reading for a 5.3L V8 in a 2000 chevy tahoe? I think it is reading between 40 and 60. I am no car guy so not sure if this is my oil pressure or what. Just know the gauge has to do with the oil and it looks high but i'm not sure. Thanks for your help everyone.
Johnnie

Almost all vehicles will be at the higher end of gauge like 60psi or more perhaps when first started up cold. They will show lower when warmed up and just at idle and jump up a bit with some RPMs. Most every engine I know of has mechanical limits to disallow overpresuring.

If it's staying within norms now and nothing else noticed it may be just fine. If the least bit worried then have it checked separately with an oil pressure tester,
