Just bought this car,and was happy with it until last night when the headlights start flickering and the check engine light and brake light light came on. What the heck?

Check at least brake fluid level now! Why isn't this car under some kind of warranty both if you just got it and it's age? If really not go get code readings now and post the #s. Headlights? IDK - kinda new for age problems but make sure both are plugged in properly if NOT under warranty. Was this car in a wreck that you know of or did you check? T

return or contact the selling dealer, if private sale contact your technician who did the used vehicle purchaser inspection for you. Either way the first step will be reading the codes, also it would seam a charging system battery test may be a starting place.
