It is automatic transmission. When I come to a stop or coming to a stop the transmission skips from 3rd to 1st gear and almost makes a popping sound. In addition, while this is happening the "AT" light comes on and stays on until I disconnect the battery. While the driving the cars stays in 2nd gear with no issue and goes up to 3rd 4th and 5th without problems. Coming to a stop or approaching a stop is when I problem. Any ideas would be appreciated.
