Frankly just defeat the thing and set it where you want it. Since forever I haven't witnessed a light sensing anything with any brains from head light dimmers, sentinels can't know why they get a certain amount of light either day/night or another vehicle or thing out there. It's probably just dirty where it senses light and IMO should be full view in daytime. Check owner's manual as to settings and defeating it as some places for head lights require them ON no matter the light like when raining or certain construction zones and don't think the car knows all that, T

Yes, the mirror seems to have a sensor problem. You can either defeat it or replace the whole mirror. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

OP - Tell me as I wouldn't know these unless I drove or owned one but see them all the time. Doesn't it come with a switch right on it to make it quit being automatic? Others noted did and I didn't touch them for any test drives which would be about all. Noted temp lights, direction arrows (frequently wrong) plus an E/M switch for English/Metric for toys on them. If this doesn't have an OFF setting I'm shocked. How could it know if you have cargo, a trailer blocking rear view except side view mirrors etc? Tinted glass allowed OE or aftermarket allowed or not varies place by place this makes little sense as a feature. As annoying as it is for a vehicle behind you to have glaringly bright lights up to blinding your forward view knock the adjustment off of dead center if so. Some features are just plain not practical up to being a distraction you don't need like that one IMO, T
