My 2008 Dodge Avenger started having some issues this past November. When the car slows down during braking, it'll jolt to a stop once it gets around 5 mph. The sensation is like I hit something in front of me, but nothing's there. It happens most often when I first turn the car on and the engine isn't warmed up yet. However, when I brake heavily in those instances, the problem rarely happens. It's only during a natural slowdown, like when there's a red light up ahead and I slowly brake. I took the car into an Exxon for a diagnosis and they found nothing wrong with it. There are no check engine or check fluid lights on either. Any help that can be given is greatly apprieciated.

What size engine? Automatic or manual? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
