2007 HHR WONT START AFTER BATTERY DISCONNECTED WHILE DRIVING

I was driving and when I came to a stop every thing shut down. So i checked the battery and the negative was off. I put it back on but it will not start. I checked all the fuses and they were all good. I tried jump starting it and charged it for 30 minutes but nothing. I tried all the tricks like switching all gears and hitting the plus and negative on the steering wheel. Nothing has worked. When I put the key in it will turn everything on , lights , radio, etc... But when I go to turn the key to start everything shuts down again till i take the key back to the first click. Can anyone help me.

Arggh, Not good news for any reason a battery is disconnected while engine is running. Only a slight chance of no serious damage PCM at least. If you have an alarm/theft system go thru all the steps to reset it.
Bad enough folks who do that thinking they are testing an alternator but while driving this is open book IMO on what harm it did and a lot of testing with some high end stuff is almost certain to get out of this,

Do you mean the engine doesn't crank or the engine cranks, but won't start?
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

The engine will not crank at all. When I put the key in I can turn to the 1st and 2nd notch and all lights and radio are still on but when I turn the key to the 3rd notch to start engine all power goes off and nothing happens.

I was using the spare tire that day which os what is usually right up against the battery in the back of the car. I guess one off the front screws holdong the battery came loose so it slung the battery when i took a turn. I checked all the anti theft fixes and none worked.

You need to start out by having that battery tested.

Wow! Whole battery got knocked over! OMG - not sure a new one can take that depending on how much trauma that went thru?
