2006 Scion tC has loose steering, handling feels off/slight vibration Sign In

Hello!

I have a 2006 Scion tC with about 27,500 miles on it. My car was fine for quite sometime and then one morning I got up drove to work on the freeway and notice some problems. That day I drove my car, it was raining out and I felt like I didn’t have much control of the car. It was actually quite scary. I was going about 75mph and my car was slipping and handling was bad (steering felt kind of loose too). I had to slow down to about 60-65 to feel like I had somewhat of control of my car. Anyhow, I checked my tires and they appear to need replacement so I had 4 brand new tires put on. After the new tires were put on, I noticed that my car drove even worst then before. On dry pavement, it felt like I was driving in slush and snow. From this, I decided to go get an alignment done (the tire place I went to didn’t do alignments). The place I went to did a front-end alignment I think (thrust angle alignment, I think it was). After the alignment, my car drove a bit better but still felt off. From there I went back to the place where I purchase new tires and had them re-balance my tires in hopes that it was just a bad balance and it would fix my issues. After the re-balance, my car seemed even better then last but still not right. Steering still felt a bit loose and handling still didn’t feel tight, there is a slight, very small vibration when I get up to about 70-75.

Do you guys think that maybe its just an alignment issue? From what I know, I just got a front-end alignment. I did some research and found that my car has adjustable rear suspensions…? So this leads me to believe that I should have/need to get a 4-wheel alignment done because I only got a 2-wheel alignment done the first time. I feel like my car “dog tracks” too, (I think that’s the appropriate term to use).

Overall, my car doesn’t have a lot of miles on it, I would say that my driving style is average and I don’t drive a lot (as you can tell with my mileage) so I cant image it would be something more serious…. Does anyone have any ideas as what could be wrong with my car?

All help and advice is greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Surge
