2006 Ford Fusion anti-theft light on but no other lights Sign In

Hey everyone, before I start I really do appreciate any and all advice. I have been googling and watching videos for hours and hours nothing works. So here's the rundown.

I have an 06 Ford Fusion with a 2.7 liter (it's either 2.7 or 2.3 I can't recall). My wife and I were driving it and the serpentine belt came off (it was a really bumpy muddy road). We had it towed to my father in laws house. We replaced the belt and while we were there I checked the rear brakes to find that I had a leak. Anyways I noticed the security light was blinking and the car wouldn't do anything at all when I turned the key over. My father in law said it must be a bad battery so he charged it with a small charger all night. I came over the next day and the car started, so we assumed it was a bad battery. I got the car home and it sat in the driveway for a few days. I had to move the car a few feet so I could move my jeep. I went out started the car backed it up and shut it off, no issues. When I was done moving the my other car out of the way I went to start the Ford to move it and wouldn't do anything, just the lock light blinking.

Things I have tried.
I bought a new battery still same thing.
I tried turning the key back and forth 8 time (did this several times) still nothing.
I tried another key (that used to work) same thing.
I tried checking every fuse (in the car and under the hood) same problem.
I tried to turn the key in the driver's door each direction for 60 seconds.
I've tried disconnecting the positive cable on the battery putting the key in turning it to on then connecting the battery and turning the key on and off.
I've tried using the battery from my working vehicle just in case the new one was dead.

When I press the brakes the brake lights do come on, however nothing on the dash except the security light comes on. The windows don't work, the radio doesn't work, but the dome light works. Now when I press the unlock button on the key my headlights will come on. But they shut off.

I cannot think of anything else to do, I can't really afford to go to the dealership. Is there anything anyone else can think of?

Thanks in advance.

Hmm? This started with that "bumpy/muddy" road, presumably bad enough to toss a belt off?
Sounds more like an accident and damage! That would explain a lot why searching for what to do isn't ordinary.

It's showing problems like wires ruined it thinks it's set for alarm and isn't snapping out of it.

Belts (who knows now) if broken, fell off may have whipped around to add insult to the injury.

IMO it needs an inspection of what it did with road damages just what was broken.

Did battery tip over and short out? Quite a check list to fix, rule out then maybe you can undo that it thinks it should be set so alarm is off and stays off not to be if source problem is still there.

IDK maybe an auto body repair place for starters to get at least an idea of damage - wires including grounds, some are wires all over and under cars, no grounds intact all bets off till known good.

It's about 18 years old wires, plugs and harness holders go brittle doesn't take much to cause endless headaches like this,

Tom

My best guess here is that the Body Control Module is failing but that's something that needs a lot more investigation before taking any action on that.
