2006 Ford Focus keys Sign In
Ok my idiot boyfriend decided to lose one of my car keys today. i believe that is was the "master key" but i had a copy made at the dealership for a hundered odd dollars because of the chip inside. is there a way for me to reprogram the key that i still have so that it is the only on that works without going to the dealership?

it also has keyless entry. but i dont know if that effects the actually key.

you need to have atleast 2 programmed keys to program additional ones. if you dont then its another trip to the dealership

well i wasnt planning on getting another one made i just dont want for someone to be able to come and use the key and start my car

like i said....in order to reprogram the keys, you need two factory keys to start the programming sequence......... this will reprogramm the existing keys and allow to you program any additional keys.

otherwise the person who finds your key will be able to get into the car and drive away.
