2005 trailblazer engine shuts off when defrost is turned on

2005 chevy trail blazer 6 cylinder and the car runs fine but when I turn on the defrost it starts idealing up and down until the engine shuts off,and i can't let run ideal for along period of time with speed meter jumping off while im driving what could be wrong is it the computer?
could any one tell me wants wrong with my suv?
