2005 Suzuki Forenza speed sensitive steering warning light

car has 62,000 miles,recent 60k service,etc,2.0 4 cyl...just today the speed sensitive steering warning light came on,it still steers the same and has not become harder in the slower speeds like the manual says...is this something that needs attention straight away or can it be taken care of at home? also, the car has a loud ticking when it first starts, then goes away when warm. It has been suggested that it is a lifter, but not to worry since it goes away when warm...please help. thanks.
