2005 Mazda 6 Running Rough, Shifting Rough???

2005 Mazda 6 Running Rough, Shifting Rough???

- 2005 Mazda - Mazda6 - V6
- Automatic & Manual Transmission
- 111,000 miles
- "Check Engine" light on - Computer Code PO 300 "Random Misfire"
- Replaced spark plugs - seemed to correct problem ("Check Engine" light off, idled smoothly) just for couple of minutes, then "Check Engine" light returned, rough performance, including idling rough, returned immediately
- "Check Engine" light remains on, car runs rough, missing, in both automatic & manual transmissions
- Alot of difficulty going up hill, have to use manual transmission to shift just to make it
- Automatic transmission seems to shift way too quickly through the gears on up to 6th gear before reaching 30 mph
ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO HOW TO DIAGNOSE & FIX THE PROBLEM??

Well you've done the basics and unfortunately that didn't help...... It's not a big thing but just so you know, you can't have both types of trannys......I'm guessing your automatic has a mode to be able to manually go thru the gears but it's still an automatic.....
Just off the top of my head from what you are posting I would probably check the exhaust for a restriction. The low power & different shift points while auto shifting makes it sound like something is going on with the vacuum & I would want to rule out a plugged cat before I got to deep into it...........
To do a quick check, hook up a vacuum gauge and take a reading @ idle, it should be bewteen 17" & 19", then take it up to 2500 rpms, if the reading drops to low single digits or zero more than likely you have a problem in your exhaust system.....
