2005 Holden Cruze car shaking when driving Sign In

I have a 2005 Holden Cruze that shakes like it's got a flat tyre. It feels like it's coming from the front left tyre. I drive about 400km a week.
I had two new front tyres put on 6 weeks ago and two back tyres put on a year ago.
It started happening about two weeks ago when I was driving 90kms and above and then continued at 60kms and above. I took it to the mechanic who said it was just a wheel balance, which they did for me. I got it back and it was fine for a few days and then started doing it again at over 90km. I took it back and they said they'd missed one tyre in the wheel balance and the tyre pressure on the four tyres were out - so they fixed all that. It was fine for week at all speeds and started shaking again today at 70km and over.
I'm scared to drive it as I do a lot of freeway driving and I don't want something bad to happen while I'm driving at 100km/hour.
Any suggestions?

Re: 2005 Holden Cruze car shaking when driving Sign In

With this shake going away after balancing and then returning after a few Klm; it’s most likely one of the tires is beginnings to fail.
Have the shop recheck the balance again; if there’s one that has changed after just these few Klm, you’ve found the cause.
The tire may not show any physical deformities; but the steel belts inside might be shifting causing the balance to change.
If this is the case; replace the affected tire(s) there’s no repair for this;
Even thou the tires are relatively new too you; maybe check the date code. If the tires are any older then 5 years get rid of all of them. Rubber never quits curing and will become dry and porous; once this happens, the internal steel belts will begin to rot, break and then the tire blows out. On the side of the tire you’ll see an oval that will have a series of letters and numbers in it. the last four numbers represent the week and year the tire was made in.
The tire pictured below was made in the 51’s week of 2007.
