2005 Envoy Engine Noise

My '05 Envoy is making a sound almost like hissing when I step on the gas. If I let off the gas it goes away. I noticed it about 2 weeks ago when I turned the radio off, but now it seems to have gotten louder. I'm afraid that it's going to lead to serious engine damage if I don't figure out what is going on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you may have a loose or broken vacuum hose somewhere in the engine compartment; just a guess.
