2004 Solara door noise

We have a 2004 Toyota Solara and all of a sudden the right door makes a sticking and thump sound when you open the door like it was in an accident?

Is this just a lube the door hinge and mechansims that hold it part open perhaps? If hinge wears down fender and door skin can rub - that means new hinge - tad early for a passenger's door for this car,
