2004 F350 diesel

2004 ford F 350 diesel (manf. date 8/03) 1290,000 miles with the 6.0 now what it is doing it started blowing white smoke all the time, it runs rough some of the time. so i parked it. went out to move it let it idle for about 10 to 15 mins. then died try to start it back up and it would not start. so i let it sit for a couple of hrs. it started right up ran for a few mins. and died agine. and now thats what it is doing and still blowing the white smoke. the coolant is full the oil is clean. ???
