2003 taurur wagon

2003 taurur wagon Sign In

My right front strut spring snapped and blew out the tire but....Purchased strut assembly and can't seem to get it back into the bottom bracket/spindle.Any tricks to make this easier.

how is it attached?

is it bolted or is it a tapered stud that goes into the spindle with a pinch bolt?

if its a tapered stud, you may need to slightly pry the opening up a little with a screw driver

It goes into the spindle with a pinch bolt

Maybe if I attach it first up top then I may be able to pry the spindle down till it slips in.Maybe?

Thanks but I answered my own question.
It almost fell right into place after bolting it on up top.

Check with your local dealer for a recall on the springs. All you need to do is have them run your VIN and they can tell you if any recalls are open. Or, if you don't care to post the 17 digit Vin here, I can check for you. If it is on a recall, Ford will pay you for the parts and labor.
