2003 Passat wont start

I have a 2003 volkswagan Passat. I tried to open my doors with the remote yesterday and it wouldn't let me. I had to use the key. Then i couldnt get my car to start. I thought it had something to do with the anti-theft. I had to disconnect the battery. Then reconnect it again. Everytime i did that it started right up. And when i got out of the car, i could lock or unlock my doors. But if i left it for a while to go into the store or something, i would have to do it all over again. What could be causing this to happen?

There is a TSB out about the remote key being inop or inconsistant (5708-08) that might pertaint to your problem.... You will have to take it in to get checked out, unless you have access to a vag com.
Nothing easy I can think of off the top of my head........sry
