2003 Expedition electrical shutting down while driving

2003 Ford Expedition
5.4L Triton
245,000 miles
My wife's expedition on her way home last night the gauges were going screwy, the radio and interior lights shut off and the headlights turned off , but the car stayed running. All while she was driving! When she got home, it would not restart, but started this morning. I recently changed the spark plugs and one ignition coil and replaced the battery 3-4 months ago. Does this sound like the alternator?
