Is that hose coming off of a white tank? If so, that hose is suppose to be dangling there. Have you pressure tested your cooling system to check for leaks?

You need to have this pressure tested and pay close attention to the intake manifold gasket. This engine is very notorious for intake leaks which can also leak into the combustion chamber or the crankcase.

Yeah I know I HATE this car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The antifreeze was disappearing when I first got this car - and I have put on 70,000 miles and there hasnt been much of a change - I'll push this thing off a cliff before I sink $1100 in it!

I guess that would be an option too

70,000 miles of driving and you've never yet had anyone look at this to see where it was leaking? After you finish watching this car burn at the base of the cliff, please take a bit better care at maintaining the next car.

Instead of pushing it off a cliff you're more than welcome to push it to my house and leave it in my driveway. Or, I'll meet you at the base of the cliff with hotdogs and marshmallows. Nick, you're in charge of the beer.

I'm curious why you have so much hate for your car. Don't you know that cars have feelings too?

Lol...you're right DS, they do. If they didn't I would've pushed the Venture off a cliff by now! Actually, it has been a good vehicle. 140k before I had to do any kind of big job on it. Just curious, does a 2002 Malibu have the same engine as my Venture? 3.1 maybe or is the Impala that has the same engine?

Cars are kind of like our bodies. We get some age on us and we have to be fixed up. I don't have the best back in the world and opted for surgery instead of plunging myself off of a cliff. I sure hope the original poster doesn't treat her family members the way she treats her car. "Screw it, grandma's appendix ruptured, lets just throw her off a cliff, she's too old to put any money into her".

Wow you compare a car to your family? As my BF commented - get a life. FYI I take VERY good care of my vehicles but this car was trouble from the start. This is HARDLY the first problem I have had with this POS and I am sick to death of it.UnsureUnsure The coolant issue just became a problem recently and my car is in for oil changes at a dealership every 3 months. Before you attack Marine, know the facts.

Sounds like you just need a new car to make you happy. Maybe you should have this one inspected before you buy it.

Could she possibly find a different car she likes better than this one? I don't think she likes this one very much. It sure has gotten a lot of groceries in that 70k miles though.

Part of your first post said, "I have 2002 POS Malibu - since I got the car the antifreeze disappears - now it is disappearing A LOT". In your most recent post you said, "The coolant issue just became a problem recently and my car is in for oil changes at a dealership every 3 months".

Which one is it? Don't try and backtrack after someone pisses you off.

You think regular oil changes is taking VERY good care of your car? What, if antifreeze is just disappearing a "little" it's fine? It's no wonder your car is a pos. There's a lot more to maintenance than just regular oil changes. Since you let an antifreeze leak go for 70,000 miles you're lucky you have a running engine to do an oil change on. If you would've taken care of the problem when you first noticed it this car wouldn't be the pos you claim it to be.

First off, get your story straight. Then push your pos car off a cliff and by a bicycle. The way you take care of a car you shouldn't even own one. Just don't complain about that bicycle being a pos after you leave it out in the rain for a year and the chain is rusted so bad it won't move.

If you take care of your body the way you take care of your vehicles it surprising you have a boyfriend. I've never had to pay anyone to work on my vehicles so I must be doing something right. I've got a feeling every car you'll ever own will be a pos after a year or two.

Like Hammer Time said, before purchasing a car always get it inspected by a qualified mechanic. Most don't want to shell out the money for an inspection but it can save you a lot of grief in the long run.

Marine - you ARE an idiot - since when does one have to list all the work they have done to get a decent, straight answer - and then PERSONAL attacks? I have had MANY vehicles that I owned well past 175,000 miles. I have never had this coolant issue with any car so I was unfamiliar with the problem. FYI - i did more research and I fixed the problem.

Thanks guys for all the help - this is a real bunch of losers.....
