Have a 2001 windstar van that started idling very high, would not pass emmissions and then started missing. Had it tested and was told it need an IAC valve. Replaced it turned Check engine light off and the idle is now fine. Still missess though even after new plugs. Any ideas?

Will probably set a new check engine code soon. Is this a ramdon miss or more like a single cylinder missfiring? Could just be plug wires. You may have a code to read now and it could have some helpful info. The catalytic conver(s) don't like missfires and it can ruin them so I'd chase that down soon, T
