To start, get the codes pulled and post the code numbers up here for us to look at. We need the numbers, not the generic description of the code. A lot of parts stores will do this for free but don't buy parts based on their recommendations right away. Just let us know what the codes were and that will give a direction to go to start testing.

I'm curious on just how you tested them.

Which engine? DOHC or OHV? Which cylinder(s) are misfiring?

Is it missing all the time or just missing on acceleration or when the engine is under load?

The regulars following this may be away or late so I'll just suggest what I would do with a known #4 cyl missing with old and new plug and wire.

Next would be test compression of that cylinder vs another known working. If that is fine does this have a single injector to that cylinder and is it getting power checked by a noid light? If yes and all else known good that injector may be the fault.

Lot of ifs and things to check and you may not have quick access to check on equipment/tools to find and fix this quickly after a US (anyway) 3 day weekend,

T

Just to confirm the number 4 cylinder is actually misfiring, unplug the injector's electrical connector for number 4 cylinder. When you unplug the injector connector does the engine run rougher or stay the same?
