So I just got back from having my car checked out and they say I need a new Air/Fuel Sensor. They wanted almost $400 for a new one and labor. I don't have $400 so I came here to have a few questions answered. I know that this may be effecting my fuel economy, but so far I haven't noticed a drop. So that part is no big deal. Any consequences beyond possible lower fuel efficiency? 2 more questions! 1) I want to find this sensor and give it a lookover to see if I can't just clean it or if a wire is exposed and shorting out...where do I find it? Is this a waste of time? 2) I found a few new ones online for around $200....is this repair difficult? I have no special tools besides your basic tool kit every man has, and a ton of bicycle repair tools. Can I do the repair without special equipment if it needs to be done? Thanks Matt PS - I forgot to mention mine is the 2001 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2WD 4 cylinder.
