If so and worth the check anyway since fooling with whatever wires worked once this is typical of poor battery cable connections. All need be good, at battery, engine block and at starter or you can get a single click. Could be a bad starter as well. It might work to gently tap on it. Going nuts with a sledge can hurt it. Light taps is a trick for another start with sticky brushes on electric motors that use them. If you clean battery cable connections and it fixes it then don't whack at the motor. Although I can hear a clicking noise coming from the back seat after I try to start it. It almost sounds like its coming from the passenger side under the window, behind the panel. I thought it was in the trunk but there is nothing in the trunk. My brother is a mechanic and he cant even find the problem. It is something to do with the heat cause on the cooler days I have no problems at all. Its only after I drive it to work then get out and try to go again when it is warm. It could be the starter over heating and not wanting to engage or other problems. Yes replacing the starter could fix the problem for a bit if it is not the underlying issue just because it is new and could cover up what is really wrong.. I am going to look into what is wrong with it this weekend and will re-post my findings and how to fix it if I figure it out.
