2001 S10 blazer fuel pump

I have a 2001 S10 Blazer ands my fuel pump failed. I am being told that i have a weird year and my pump is going to cost 327.00. Is there any other pump I can substitute and also is there an access panal in rear of vehicle or do I have to drop the tank.
