Hi, I went to a mechanic a month ago and replace the alternator because my battery light came on. After about one month, the battery light came on again. I went to the same mechanic and he said that the oxygen senor is faulty. If I unplugged one oxygen sensor and I did not fix that one oxygen sensor. Will the car still run and won't shut down? What are the problems that the car might cause? Why is the battery light keep coming on. Should I change the oxygen sensor since the mechanic said the wiring looks burnt out? Now that I took one oxygen sensor off, the battery light and the engine light does not come on anymore. I notice my car is consuming more fuel.

That's a load of nonsense. You should NEVER unplug an O/2 for any reason. That is one of the biggest players in the computer's fuel mixture control and I don't see any connection to the battery light at all. If you have a bad O/2, then replace it but I doubt it's the cause of the battery light. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
