my ABS is unhooked, i dont really care for it. had to change a caliper, bled em as normal. for some reason, this time around the pedal is still spongy...any suggestions?

What was wrong with you ABS system that made you bypass it ? A properly functioning sysyem should not even be noticable , until you need it then it could be a life saver. I've spent my entire career making things work right . Afraid I will not be of much help trying to back door enginneer it . Not to mention the liability if my advise caused harm . i can appreciate your advice, but my abs system has been unplugged for a couple of years. I never got comfortable with the brakes engaging on there own. its just a personall preferance. All i wanted to know was why i cant seem to get the air out of the line. thanx for your help though...

Where did you ever get the idea that the brakes engage on their own? That is not how ABS works. It will "pulse release" any wheel that is locking up on a panic start to prevent you from skidding. It's still the best braking you can get.It could save your life on a slippery road. You probably won't get the air out of the system with the ABS disconnected. Just a quick question, is the bleeder on the top of the caliper or the bottom???? If it's on the bottom they gave you the wrong side caliper & that would be your air problem..... I won't go into the ABS part.......but the guys are right about it.....
