Hi, I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. recently the button to unlock the door got jammed and i can't unlock the passenger door. I tried forcing the button to unlock but it doesn't go any further than half way. i can i fix this problem? i was thinking about using a slim jim to try to open the door and then taking off the panel to see if i can see any problems. Does anybody know what could be the problem? what would i look for and do i have to take off the panel to fix it? Thanks for the help guys.

Some failed door lock motors prevent use of manual unlock!! Nice feature huh? Use tons of WD-40 and wiggle manual unlock back and forth. If you get the door open take the panel off right away before closing again. Disconnect lock motor linkage so it works manually till you get what you need for the fix. These things are a pest!! Keep at it you'll get it,

Thanks Tom, you're the best. My driver's side door's window motor went out, these doors suck!

Sometimes it makes you wonder. Times like "Walton's Mountain" - "Little House on the Prarie" and "Bonanza" start to look good again!!!! I know it's not funny but sometimes a fiesty horse was easier to deal with That and we have the audacity to call this PROGRESS!! Try to have a great weekend,
