i have a 2000 civic with a 1.6 that has a manifold/converter assembly that is bad. i want to replace it with a high flow cat and header but i dont know if i can because my o2 sensors are on the front of the engine and wont reach underneath the car to the new cat. can these be moved or modified so i can put the new exhaust on i have someone that is selling the whole system for a good price but i dont know if i can use it on my car and want to be 100 percent sure it will work without triggering the check engine light again

kev; First, it is unlawful to modify the exhaust. (Federal law). You must have working O2 sensors before and after the catalyst. The upstream O2 sensor tells the computer information for fuel delivery. The downstream O2 tells it catalyst efficiency. Modern automobiles are designed to give maximum power and fuel economy within legal restrictions. If you start messing with that, you'll have nothing but headaches. In my state, if the check engine light is commanded on, whether it is illuminated or not, you won't pass the emissions test. Best left alone. You have a 1.6L engine. Leave it alone and laugh all the way to the bank when you buy fuel.
