I have replaced the fuel pump, throttle position sensor, spark plug wires and spark plugs, any suggestions? The transmission does not seem to shift into overdrive, could this have something to do with the surging? Most shops have a Motor Vac which does an excellent (state of the art) job. The throttle body and IAC are cleaned at the same time. Generally, you'll notice an increase in performance and fuel economy once done. Of course, there are other causes, but you can 'look' at it as maintenance, which should be done at 30-40K miles.
