Search Auto Parts Search 2000 Hyundai Elantra noise Sign up here!   Email This Post Auto Repair Home>> Automotive Repair>> Car Troubleshooting dayman New User May 18, 2009, 10:23 AM Post #1 of 3 (2987 views) 2000 Hyundai Elantra noise Sign In I have a 2000 Elantra with almost 90k miles and there's this strange noise that comes from the engine compartment that's very noticeable when the engine's cold. It's a very hard noise to describe, it sounds kind of like a vibration/squeak/rattle that seems to be coming from the passenger side. When I rev the engine, I hear the sound as the rev's go down and when driving, I hear the sound when braking and going over bumps. Aside from the sound though, the car drives fine. I know that my oil pan's rusted and that I need a thermostat flush if it could be related to either of those. I'll try and get a video with the sound in it later once my car gets cool again. Any ideas what it could be and if I should worry? If you should worry? Don't know-try to get that recording and we will do our best. Dose it make the noise when you are not moving but rev the engine?
