2000 Hyundai Accent driver door wont open from outside

2000 Hyundai. I can unlock and open the passenger door, and then I go on to open the driver side door from the inside. This is the only way I can get into my car. When I try to unlock the Driver side door from the outside, the latch turns to unlocked, but I can't open the door from the outside.

a plastic retaining clip probably broke and the lock rod fell out. your going to need to pop off the door panel and take a look
