Hi all,

I have 200 ford contour sport v6. This year it has been over heating. At first we thought it was one of the fans not turning on, so I would use my a/c every time I drove so to manually turn the fan on. So we know that there is a problem there.

After a a few warm California months, it started over heating again even with the A/c. We checked and the fans are turning on and everything appears to be connected and still overheating and blowing water from the resovior. I have talked to several people and everyone suggests that it is one of three sensors. can someone please educate me as to the name of these sensors as well as somewhere to find a diagram?

Thanks folks!

If the fans are working and you still are blowing water out I would lean towards a blockage to flow , a stuck thermostat . clogged radiator , or bad water pump. A worst case would be a blown head gasket . I would start with the less exspensive item first and replace thermostat.
