I have a 2000 chevy silverado 1500. Trying to locate starter. Is there a diagram on the net that I can view? Also would like information on how to replace starter on my own.Wink

WARNING! BE SURE TO TAKE OFF THE NEGATIVE CABLE ON YOUR BATTERY.The starter is behind the front passenger wheel. It will be about four inches in diameter and about ten inches in length. It should be located about two feet from the ground. crawl under the car and it should be seen on that side; right beside the oil pan. it has two bolts that hold it on and u will need at least a ten inch extension to remove them. It will probably be two 15 mm sized bolts. there will be a few wires that u will need to remove and attach the exact same way to your new one. after that u can put it back on and bolt it down and you will be done.
