1999 mazda protege

I have a 1999 mazda protege when i drive i hear a rattling noise coming from underneath the car on the drivers side only when i step on the gas to drive when i stop driving the noise stops what can it be

This could be something with the exhaust like loose or rusted something. Heat shields are a weak link and can make quite a comotion. Frequently you can find these if elusive with tapping on exhaust with a rubber hammer to locate the spot,
