1999 ford ranger 4x4 brake lights not on Sign In

1999 Ford Ranger 4x4 pickup 4.0 with 190,000 miles. Both break lights wont come on. Replace bulbs and fuses. someone said the switch for the brake pedal but i have no clue where that is or how to get to it to check it out. help please

Is the 3rd (high mount) brake light working?

This is a pic of the brake lamp switch. It is mounted high on the brake pedal arm. Check the wires going to the switch, first. Could be just a frayed wire. If you replace the switch, note carefully how the insulators are situated during removal.
