1999 VW Rialta(Eurovan) 2.8L 40000 Miles Recently we took a trip to Florida-no problems. While there we went out and encountered severe hesitation upon acceleration. We found a repair shop that traced the problem via engine codes to the throttle body. Ironically he also discovered that the van ran very nicely after unplugging the throttle body. That is how we drove the vehicle back to New York State with no difficulties. After getting home I ordered a new throttle body, installed it and no change. I took it to my mechanic who said his next option was the mass air flow sensor which he diagnosed from further engine codes. I ordered a new mass air flow sensor, installed it and though the performance was a bit better, it still has the hesitation with increased RPMs. Wondering what should be my next course of action.

have the vehicle scanned - free at autozone, advance, and orielys parts stores other brands may do also- post the code #s they retrieve. I find it suspect that 2 'professionals' would fall into the same novice trap, a code does NOT indicate or suggest that a part needs changing,
