1999 Pontiac Firebird headlight motor

Hi... I just recently purchased a rebuild kit for the right side headlight motor on my wife's 1999 Pontiac Firebird. The problem I ran into was getting the motor stabbed back into the gear housing. Particularly it's the two small spring loaded brass pieces that I can't seem to keep in place. Any tips or suggestions would be very much appreciated.....

Well I haven't personally rebuilt any of those units.....but when putting some stuff back together where something keeps falling out of place, if it's not a critcially clean area, I will put a dab of di-electric grease or 3M weather stripping glue on a piece to hold it in place...
