1999 Olds Bravada sluggish while turning

We have recently purchased a 99 Bravada. 160k miles. Runs great, except for sometimes when you turn right/left it seems hesitant or jerky for just a few seconds and then right back to great. Again it's only while turning does it do this. I'd love for this to be something we can fix ourselves. Thank you for all your help!!

If this is the 4WD model, make certain that it is in 2WD when on dry pavement. The button on the dash is easily hit with a knuckle when moving the shift lever. Seen it many times.
