I've had a 1999 Jeep Cherokee sitting in my driveway for awhile and hasn't been started. A month or so ago I went out to try it and it wouldn't turn over. I bought a new battery and after about turning the key 20 times it started but quit after idling for about 10min. I'm now trying to start it again and it will not turn over. I removed the starter and had it tested and it was fine, and so is the battery. I checked the cables and nothing looked out of place. Anything else I could try? The last time it ran why did I need to turn the key 20 times for it to turn over? Thanks!

Am I reading this right? Sat a while, new battery as it was dead, finally started but stalled. Another month it would be dead again. You can try charging the battery and even get the thing tested. If it sat dead for a month it's probably junk. Other: If it went that dead it's lost all memory and might not idle so well for a good while. If you know your battery is good, fully charged and turning key does nothing is one thing, cranking and not starting is another. Which is it? T

Under the hood find the relay box and locate the starter relay. When you turn the key to the start position, is it functioning? If so, do you have 12v to the small terminal of the starter solenoid?
