Hello, the car is 1999 Ford Taurus OHV engine. It showed a code po301 po303. I was wondering since this could be a number of things, how would I check the coil, and plug wires to see if either one or the other is bad? I really would appreciate some help with this because I'd rather do this stuff myself than to have a shop do it. Thank you very much Also I changed plugs back in May, could that be a problem also?

Although wires can be measured with an ohmmeter, the best determining factor is the age. If they have over 50K or 5 years on them, just replace them along with the plugs. You can't even look at coils until you have good plugs and wires

Thanks, I'm not sure but I believe the wires are fairly old, and I believe it's the original coil, that's why I had thought coil but wasn't really sure

Look at it this way. Call the coil the fuel tank and the plugs and wires are the trip they have to make on that fuel. If you make the trip the shortest distance by reducing the resistance in the plugs and wires, you won't need as much fuel (capacity), so do that first.
