Sign In Yesterday when I started my truck my ABS and E brake lights where on even though my E brake was not engaged. About two hours after that on my way home my speedometer stopped working and just dropped to zero. Whenever I get around 40 MPH the speedometer kicks in and jumps to 40 and continues to work from there. But does not work below that. I had never had any problems or warning lights on before until that morning. Are the brake lights and speedometer not working related? Sign In The ABS light on means the ABS module has detected a problem and stored a code to identify it. The right way to do this is to have the code read but I can tell you that since the speedo isn't working, that is likely what put the light on. These truck have a problem with the speed sensor in the top of the differential.
