35,000 miles - Fuel nozzle shuts off repeatedly when gassing car, making fueling very time consuming. What is causing it? How can it be fixed?

I have problems with my own cars sometimes and it seems to depend on the particular gas station's hoses. Sometimes sideways or upside down works better. The idea for the recovery nozzles is to capture the vapors as you fill which is a total joke and not even a good one!! That same gas station gets perhaps 20,000 gals of fuel and that vapor just goes in the air. I've had to pull back that stupid snorkel to get gas and try that and see if it helps. I'm tired and having a bad day and sick of the flicking government regs while one stupid bomb somewhere emits more crap in a second than we could do in a year. T WAKE UP FOLKS!!!! Vote and vote often

Thanks for the response. This is a problem that has happened for every fill-up at multiple gas stations for the last two months, so it is a car problem, not a gas pump nozzle problem.

OK: I'm in a better mood now. It may be a problem with your own car's vapor recovery system. Pinched hoses or a totally trashed charcoal canister which should be under the hood could be the trouble. Please post any more questions or the answer to this problem for the world to see, T
