1998 Toyota Cor. VE Oxygen Sensor Sign In

Bought the car in 2003. Drove it off the lot and several weeks later the engine light came on. Brought it to my local mechanic and he told me it was the ox fuel sensor. Got it replaced and several weeks later the light came back on. I reset the light but after just a few days or weeks it comes back on. I had it hocked to diag. and still says the ox fu sens. So now I just ignored it. 2007 NH state law now requires light to be off. POOP!! Went for my inspection - mach. told me to get it replaced. I told him my issue but he didn't seem to listen. Got it replaced and two weeks later light came back on. In 2008 I reset it before getting inspec. IT PASSED! But it came back on. I've had it replced three times now.

I'd rather use my engine light for what it was intended. Any help?

wcatesjr; The O2 code tells you that there is a problem in that system. It doesn't tell you that the sensor is bad.
Could be a circuit problem or even a computer problem. Find a shop that has the capabilities of diagnosing. Anyone can 'replace' parts. If you ignore this, catalyst damage is probable. And, don't clear the codes before you take it in...It is also possible that you are getting low-quality sensors. I would recommend using Toyota sensors, but if not, Bosch are good quality, too.
