1998 Subaru Liberty Losing power / Running rough Sign In

1998 Subaru Liberty RX Bilstein edition 2.5L 195000Kms

For awhile now ive been noticing my car has been losing power and recently i started noticing when i go up a hill the revs sort of jump around instead of being a smooth climb in rpm

I change oil regularly and get it serviced every 10000kms

I had a new radiator installed recently if that would count for anything

Help please its getting me worried that my car is going to die on me

There is alot of things that could cause that.

For some reason after reading your post I was wondering if this is a manaul trans. If it so how does the clutch pedal feel? is the engage point all the way at the top?

Without being able to drive the car it's very hard to tell what area is causing the problem.

A misfire could give you close to the same symptoms so I don't want to get you worried over something that could be minor....

It comes down to experience on the test drive to be able to tell between different areas.... If you can't tell and want to save a little money before taking it in. If you haven't changed the plugs & wire and can do that yourself, maybe change them out with a cheap set to see if that helps.

If you have to take the car in to get done then have them diagnose the problem 1st... You would have to pay a diag fee up front but thats better than putting a few hundred dollars into tune up maintenance only to find out you have a major problem....
