There is a lot of fluid loss underneath. The engine runs fine and the problem seems to be steering related. This started after driving on a highway with lots of up and downs (thanks to our Colorado state money). Can somebody direct me to the major item that could be causing the loud noises especially when turning? Presumably PS fluid and do keep it filled or pump will suffer. If 4X4 there's a transfer case that could be the fluid leak also. The frond end parts will simply have to be inspected as the "popping" noise is unaccepatable. Could it be the front drive axle knuckles going bad. Somebody told me that could be it. Thanks for your reply earlier. The steering noise made worse when turning is more consistant with CV joints and possibly bearings.
