1998 Chevrolet C2500 Cheyenne 5.7 Engine Approximately 185,000 miles I bought this truck used and drove it home. On that drive home, I discovered that fuel was leaking, though I couldn't tell from exactly where. It only leaked fuel when it was not running. At first, I thought the gas tank was leaking, so I dropped the tank to examine it. I did not disconnect any wiring at this time. At this point, the truck still started and drove just fine. It turned out that the tank was not leaking, but with the tank out of the way, I could see that my fuel lines were leaking. I disconnected the fuel pump and replaced the lines, then reconnected the fuel pump. When I tried to start the truck, it cranked, turned over, ran for a second or two and then just stalled out. I thought maybe I connected the fuel pump incorrectly, so I brought it to a garage to make sure. Everything is correctly installed. The fuel filter has been changed and the fuel pump has been tested. Both parts are functioning. I did google the problem and found a couple suggestions. If the EFI fuse was faulty, I believe that it wouldn't crank (I'm not a mechanic, so I could be wrong). Someone suggested an MAF sensor. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

What is the fuel pressure while cranking the engine? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

A no start is BASICS - as mentioned fuel pressure use a gauge, Spark at several cylinders, AND codes- is the CEL (Ck Eng Lt) on? Be sure the CEL comes on at every start, I see so many bulbs ionp on used cars .... wonder why.
